Pride Shabbat 2024
My cousin Jeff Avick was a professional actor, so during Pride Shabbat we paid tribute to his memory in the best way possible, "Chorus Line" style:
I read excerpts from his 1993 sermon given on that very same pulpit, where he described how he was living with HIV. I also distributed a booklet of his poetry and other writings. Jeff died of AIDS in 1999.
